Making a great taco isn’t rocket science, and this famous Hispanic American should know. Today we shine the spotlight on Astronaut, Inventor Dr. Ellen Ochoa. Dr. Ochoa was the first Hispanic Female to travel to space and is a veteran of 4 space missions, logging close to 1000 hours in space.

Dr. Ochoa is also the first Hispanic American to serve as Director of the Johnson Space Center. She earned her master’s degree and doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University and has completed extensive research on optical systems for performing information processing.

Ellen received NASA’s highest award , the Distinguished Service Medal.Today we raise a taco salute to Dr. Ochoa.
